Fellowship in Christ, Berkeley (FiCB) is the campus ministry of Korean Central Presbyterian Church (KCPC) in Daly City.  We meet regularly in both large and small group settings on the Berkeley campus.  The goal of our ministry is to shape our members into “real Christians in the real world” – that is, to be transparent and authentic citizens of Heaven and of Earth – so that our knowledge and faith in Christ would remain firm when we leave the university setting for the work place.

Our ministry has a joint-vision with our church: Ecclesiastical Excellence in Christ.  The first part of our vision is to worship Christ as our Savior, for we are to “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness” (Psalm 29:2).  The second part is to build up Christians with the message of the gospel, which tells us that in Christ we are totally forgiven, fully accepted, and radically loved by God.  As Christians, we are freed from both the punishment and power of sin and are progressively being transformed into the image of Christ.  As Paul puts it, we are a new creation.  The third part is to reach out to the world with the message of the gospel.  Once we are transformed by the gospel, we are to become agents of transformation in the world through both our words and our actions.  In our words, we share the message of salvation in Christ with the world.  And in our actions, we embody the love of God through our service to the world.

This is simply the dynamic of the gospel: God works in us and then through us.  And this is what we’re committed to at FiCB.

The mission of our ministry is to glorify God by being a people who are transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ and who then serve as agents of transformation for God in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout the world.
