FiCB Announcements for the week of Sept 11! (lots of new announcements!)

HOLA new and old members of FiCB ! I hope everyone spent time to remember what day it is today–the 12th anniversary of September 11th. A tragic day to remember, but also a reminder for our safety that we often take for granted. Another reason to thank the Lord for the small and big things in our life 🙂

Also, I hope this article from John Piper's blog DesiringGod serves as an encouragement to those who seek spiritual intentionality in their everyday work/school life! —–> click here!

&& on to our   w e e k l y    a n n o u n c e m e n t s ! (LOTS OF NEW ONES)

*Freshmen this is an awesome way to really get to know your upperclassmen! & also to fill in your awkward 1-hr classroom gaps 😛

>> Large Group this Friday, Sept 13th @ 60 Evans at 7:30 pm!!
Come seek His presence! It'll be a great time of worship, fellowship, and seeing familiar faces. New or old, we'd love to see you come out! Please make an effort come on time! Please none of that Berkeley-time-lateness-aka-i'm-just-gonna-leave-the-house-at-7:30 shenanigans!

Here's a great quote that I read from a brother of mine: "Being late disturbs the experiences of other people. Your tardiness not only robs others of their time, but of the fullness of their experiences as well. The student who interrupts a professor in the middle of his lecture; the family which climbs over you to get to their seats at the middle of the row in the theater; the man who opens the creaky door in the middle of a eulogy. When an old man was once asked why he had been so punctual in arriving at his church on time for decades, he replied, “I made it my religion not to disturb the religion of others.”

oof. I know. Good, right? 😀

>> KCPC-wide Lunch BBQ this Sunday, 9/16!

We will be having a great time of free BBQ & games directly after service this upcoming Sunday! All Transpo vans will be going to this BBQ! But don't worry, it won't be much longer than our normal Sunday bible study times!

**Also, for football-enthusiasts: RIGHT AFTER the BBQ, there will be a flag football practice for our annual Charity Bowl Co-Ed Flag Football tournament in December! Bring your tennis shoes and a change of clothes to fellowship with our older brothers and sisters. It's a great time of bonding 🙂 Anyone & everyone is allowed to play!

>> Transpo Times to KCPC this Sunday
We will resume our normal services at KCPC in Daly City this upcoming Sunday! If you need a ride to KCPC, our BEST (&only) Tranpo Team  provides transportation to and from church!
Here are the pick up times! Please be on time 🙂

  • 9:05 AM @ Foothill (La Loma)
  • 9:10 AM @ Unit 1 (Channing Side)
  • 8:50 AM @ Unit 3 (Durant Side)

If you have any questions about rides, contact Tony Chang @ (818) 522-4814
>> Freshmen Lock-In at KCPC on Friday 9/27-9/28!
This is a GREAT opportunity for freshmen to spend time as a WHOLE together. There will be games, hilarious skits, unhealthy but delicious snacks (aka ramen, chips, etc), & a trip to our beach at church! Ask ANY upperclassman about their freshmen lock-in experience. They'll all say that they had a blast :). Here's a picture from last year's trip (missing a bunch of the now-sophomores, but that's okay hehe)
